So in the last six months, I have run my first ultra and my 3rd, 4th, and 5th marathon almost back-to-back. All of which I've had some major breakthroughs in my development for running. I'm pretty happy overall and want nothing more than to keep improving. I've got some small aches and pains from Conquer the Cove and I think it's probably time to take a couple weeks off and run some easy runs.
During one of our weekly Skype sessions, Liza and I worked on a few major race goals from now and until the end of the year. I really have two goals: finish a 100-mile ultra in less than 24-hours and run a sub-three hour marathon time.
Two races that are super convenient for me are the Run than Wine Marathon, Las Cruces, NM and happens to be the New Mexico State Championship and the Javelina Jundred, Phoenix, AZ. The marathon is in beginning of October and the Javelina100 is in November. I have a lot of time to train for both of these races and I think training for a speedy marathon will also help in running a sub-24 at Javelina.
